Blog 2

I have used MS Word in writing papers for the last 6 or 7 years as a student. I have also used it in projects and birthday cards. Teachers have used Word for syllabi, tests and quizzes. They have also used it for letters home, permission slips, school newspapers-- any assignment handouts or literature is generally done in Word.

The section on tabling information using the word processor is going to be helpful. I can see myself using this for study guides that would compare and contrast different themes or events or people that my students will study in my class.

Creating the blog is something that will definitely help. I think it can be very helpful for students to have a site that they can go to check on what assignments are due, or to have lecture notes/diagrams/ slides available to access at home to compliment their class notes. A blog can also be a forum for them to ask me questions outside of the classroom as they are doing their homework or studying. I can also post links to places on the internet that could give them more information about the topic we are studying if they are interested in learning more. I think that blogs will be an important tool in the future as we continue to use the internet for information.
